Position Summary

Loan Factory is seeking an experienced Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to lead the company’s enterprise risk management strategy. The CRO will oversee risk identification, mitigation, and monitoring across all areas of the organization, including credit risk, operational risk, and regulatory compliance.

This executive role will partner closely with leadership to ensure the company’s lending activities and business strategies align with sound risk management practices and U.S. mortgage regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the company’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.

  • Oversee risk management across mortgage origination, underwriting, operations, and compliance.

  • Monitor loan performance, credit risk, and operational risk exposure.

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state mortgage regulations, including those from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and other regulatory bodies.

  • Provide regular risk assessments and reports to executive leadership.

  • Advise leadership on risk implications of new products, expansion initiatives, and operational changes.

  • Establish policies, controls, and risk monitoring processes across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or related field.

  • 10+ years of risk management experience in mortgage lending, banking, or financial services.

  • Senior leadership experience managing enterprise risk or compliance programs.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. mortgage regulations and lending practices.

  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.

Preferred

  • MBA or advanced degree.

  • Certifications such as FRM, CRM, or similar risk management credentials.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $150,000-180,0000/year
